You will earn miles whenever you fly with VARIG, Rio Sul, Nordeste, Pluna, the companies of the Star Alliance, and the airline partner companies: South African Airways and Spanair.

Also, when using the services or purchasing the products of the partners of the Program, such as credit cards, hotels, car rental companies, restaurants and many others. You can exchange the accrued miles for free trips to 894 airports in 131 countries.

Flying, purchasing the products or using the services of our partners, you will accrue Smiles Miles that will be credited to your Smiles Account. The accrued miles can be exchanged for free round trip air tickets on VARIG, Rio Sul, Nordeste, Pluna, the Star Alliance companies and the partner airlines: South African Airways and Spanair.
Or, you can use them to make an upgrade to the class of service immediately superior to that of your paid ticket, on VARIG or Pluna flights. For example, a ticket in Economy Class (tariffs Y or B), gives you the right to an Upgrade to Executive Class.

And more: you can exchange your miles for stays at the Tropical Hotels chain. You have four ways to accrue miles in the Smiles Program:
· Flying with our companies

· Flying with the Star Alliance companies

· Flying with the partner companies

· Purchasing the products or services of the Program partners

VARIG, Rio Sul, Nordeste or Pluna.
Flying in Economy Class, the distance flown is converted into Smiles Miles. For example: a round trip flight between São Paulo and Miami, you will accrue a credit of 8,140 miles in your Smiles Account.

Flying in Executive Class, in addition to earning the distance flown in Smiles Miles, you will earn an additional bonus of 25%. Using the previous example, you will accrue a credit of 10,175 Smiles Miles.

For example: on the above flight, you will accrue a credit of 10,175 Smiles Miles. Flying in First Class, in addition to converting the distance of flown miles into Smiles Miles, you will earn a bonus of 50%. Using the previous example, you will accrue a credit of 12,210 Smiles Miles.
Or, for example: on the same above flight you will accrue a credit of 12,210 Smiles Miles.
For your information: Rio Sul and Nordeste flights only offer the option of Economy Class service. When flying VARIG or Pluna, you have the option of Economy, Executive or First Class.

You are entitled to receive the following benefits:

· Earn miles whenever you fly VARIG, Rio Sul, Nordeste, Pluna and the companies of the Star Alliance .
· Earn miles when buying the products, or utilizing the services of the Smiles partner companies.
· Flown miles, and segments flown, are considered in the upgrading of Smiles Cards.
· Redeem accrued miles for awards offered by the Smiles Program: Smiles Tickets, Any Day Smiles Tickets or One Way Smiles Upgrades.
· Priority in confirming flights for tickets purchased at the published fare, exclusively on VARIG, Rio Sul, Nordeste and Pluna flights.

Smiles Silver Card

You are entitled to receive the following benefits:

This level is reached after you have accrued 20,000 flown miles, or 25 flown segments, within a 12 consecutive month period, and you will be entitled to the following additional benefits:
UPGRADE
2 One Way Smiles Upgrades for Executive Class, valid only on VARIG domestic flights (within Brazil), on a stand-by basis at the airport, valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
BONUS
· A 5,000 mile, one-time bonus, credited after reaching the Silver Card level
· A bonus of 25% over the flown mileage, on VARIG, Rio Sul, Nordeste and Pluna.
· A bonus of 3,000 miles upon each renewal of the Silver Card.
EXCESS BAGGAGE
Up to 10 kilos of excess baggage allowance, exclusively on flights of VARIG Rio Sul, Nordeste and Pluna, within South America.

Smiles Gold Card

You are entitled to receive the following benefits:

This level is reached after you have accrued 50,000 flown miles or 60 flown segments, within a 12 consecutive month period, and you will be entitled to the following additional benefits:

UPGRADE
Four One Way Smiles Upgrades for Executive Class, valid only on VARIG domestic flights (within Brazil), on a stand-by basis at the airport, valid for 6 months from the date of issue.

BONUS
· A 7,500 mile, one-time bonus, credited after reaching the Gold Card level.
· A bonus of 50% over the flown mileage on VARIG, Rio Sul, Nordeste and Pluna.
· A bonus of 5,000 miles upon each renewal of the Gold Card.

EXCESS BAGGAGE *
Up to 20 kilos of excess baggage allowance, or one extra volume (in countries where the piece concept applies).

Smiles Diamond Card

This level is reached after you have accrued 100,000 flown miles or 100 flown segments, within a 12 consecutive month period, and you will be entitled to the following additional benefits:

UPGRADE
Six One Way Smiles Upgrades for Executive Class, valid only on VARIG domestic flights (within Brazil), on a stand-by basis at the airport, valid for 6 months from the date of issue.

BONUS
· A 10,000 mile, one-time bonus, credited after reaching the Diamond Card level.
· A bonus of 100% over the flown mileage, on VARIG, Rio Sul, Nordeste and Pluna.
· A bonus of 7,000 miles upon each renewal of the Diamond Card.

Up to 20 kilos of excess baggage allowance, or one extra volume (in countries where the piece concept applies) *

You can exchange the accrued Miles in your
Smiles Account for several awards.

At this moment, these are the awards available:

• Smiles Tickets

There are round trip tickets to all of the location served by VARIG, Rio Sul, Nordeste, Pluna, the companies of the Star Alliance and the partner airlines: South African Airways and Spanair.
They can be used at any time of the year, without date restrictions and they are always issued with confirmed departure and return dates, with a validity of one year from the original date of issue. The ticket awards issued for travel with the companies of the Star Alliance are subject to embargo periods.

• Any Day Smiles Tickets

These are tickets that have the same priority as full-fare tickets. That is, when there are no longer any available seats for Smiles Tickets (which are subject to capacity control), you can request the Any Day Smiles Ticket. This award requires a higher amount of Smiles Miles and is only available on VARIG,
Rio Sul, Nordeste and Pluna.

• One Way Smiles Upgrades

This award permits Member to fly in the next superior class of service to that of the purchased ticket. For example: If you buy an Economy Class ticket, using your miles, you can then exchange, with the required accrued mileage, for travel in Executive Class. The One Way Smiles Upgrade can only be used in conjunction with a paid ticket, according with the table of awards below and is available for departure or return trips on VARIG and Pluna flights.
